Inferior cluneal nerves

The inferior cluneal nerves (also known as gluteal branches of posterior femoral cutaneous nerve, Latin: nervi clunium inferiores) are two to three sensory branches that arise from the posterior femoral cutaneous nerve and innervate the skin in the lower gluteal region.

The inferior cluneal nerves arise near the lower margin of the gluteus maximus. They turn around the edge of the gluteus maximus reaching the posterior surface of the gluteus maximus.

The inferior cluneal nerves innervate the skin in the lower part of the gluteal region.
