Occipital sinus

The occipital sinus (Latin: sinus occipitalis) is an unpaired venous sinus and the smallest of the dural venous sinuses. It lies on the inner surface of the occipital bone. This sinus extends from the foramen magnum along the posterior margin of the falx cerebelli to the confluence of the sinuses. The occipital sinus receives tributaries from the foramen magnum, as well as the internal vertebral venous plexuses.
